Another an elderly Cornish man pointing his cane at a high cross fill this wonderful book of early Medieval Cornwall and the Celtic Cornish Saints. History and technique Intro. J.Romilly Allen. Good shape. No writing or underlines. Some fading on covers and light shelf wear, cocked covers a bit of rubbing with a tiny chip at top of spine, otherwise pages clean and tight. Binding solid. Gilt titles on spine and cover bright. This is a big wonderful book. A comprehensive study and illustrated collection of the Celtic Crosses of Cornwall. The author believed that 'Celtic knot work' had it's origins in Celtic intertwining of branches in the walls of the their thatched round houses (As opposed to Coptic).
