First off the the author Horace P.Beck was a Maine guide and folklorist historian who made birch bark canoes and lived with Algonquin people Add that to this is a history of Native Americans as Colonial sailors and fighting men on Frigates and Privateers and even goes into Native sailing ships with sails with early drawings of Ketches Maps Newspapers PLUS Colonial Broadsides included. On top of that this was published in 1959 First Edition in Mystic Connecticut by a Maritime museum association. What a book plus filled with drawings! Nor is it expensive.
